Genetics of Diabetes
Diabetes is a whole set of metabolic disorder characterized by
persistent hyperglycaemia. Albeit a few significant components that
have been distinguished for diabetes, the specific reason for onset of this
disease are obscure. Certain HLA haplotypes are associated with a higher danger of
acquiring type I diabetes, among which specific sets of HLA-DQA1, HLA-DQB1, and
HLA-DRB1 brings about the most noteworthy risk of developing the disorder at a
very early stage of life. In case of Diabetes type II, The disorder is said to be inherited in the
family due to a set of disease susceptibility genes running down the generations which directly or indirectly
regulate the expression of insulin.
